Rapid test (COVID-19 antigen test):
The rapid test is a quick, reliable and safe way to detect the SARS-COV-19 corona virus, which is done:
- • Preactively, in order to check if you have had the disease, even without symptoms
- • If you have symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, or loss of taste
- • After contact with a confirmed COVID case
- • If you work in the health sector
- • If you belong to one of the vulnerable groups
- • If you take care of children or elderly persons
Do I need to make an appointment for rapid testing?
No, rapid testing is performed on a walk-in basis on weekdays from 7:00 a.m. until 18:00 p.m., and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. You will need to have a Social Security Number (AMKA) ready.
How is the sample taken?
Testing for COVID-19 is done with a nasal swab.
Is it safe for visitors to enter the facilities of the diagnostic centre?
- • The test is performed in a specially designed area
- • The staff uses special equipment, according to the relevant instructions
How is the test result given?
- If you are testing for work, the test result is posted on the Social Security website (idika.gr), where you can search for it using your TAXIS credentials or Social Security Number (AMKA).
- For travelling domestically or abroad or other purposes, you will receive the result within 20 minutes in printed form.
- For your convenience and in order to avoid unnecessary travel, you can also ask the reception staff to send the result to your e-mail address.
Some safety tips for going out:
- If you are about to meet people, prefer an open-air location
- Wear a mask or keep a safety distance of 2 meters
- If you feel the need to cough or sneeze, cover your mouth in your elbow
- Disinfect your hands after contact with doorknobs, elevator buttons, switches.
